CANSA Expands Patient Support Access at Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital Through Service Day Change

In a continued effort to reach and support more cancer patients and their families, the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) has announced that its activities at Job Shimankana Tabane Hospital will move from Wednesdays to Thursdays.
The decision follows ongoing discussions and collaboration between CANSA, hospital management and the healthcare team, and reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that cancer patients have greater access to the support services they need.

Agrippa Ngobeni – Teen Cancer Survivor – Studies Environmental Health to Protect Immuno-compromised Patients

CANSA celebrates the resilience and courage of youth affected by cancer this Youth Day. Diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2012 at the age of 15, Agrippa is currently studying a Bachelor of Environmental Health course with the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. He chose this course, to help combat environmental health hazards that could severely affect immuno-compromised people like he was when he was receiving cancer treatment and is grateful for the support he received from CANSA’s TLC staff…

For many people, the end of active treatment is not the end of the impact that cancer has had on their lives. Survivors may continue to live with fatigue, anxiety, fear of recurrence, body image changes, relationship strain, financial pressure, workplace challenges, long-term side effects and the emotional impact of having faced a life-threatening illness.
