CANSA Advocacy
CANSA and our partners advocate and lobby to educate decision-makers in our country on the necessary changes needed to protect the public from known carcinogens (cancer causing agents), educating communities to lower personal cancer risk, promote awareness of symptoms of cancer and the benefits of regular cancer screening to promote early detection of cancer to enable best treatment outcomes.
CANSA states its position on important cancer-related matters in its position statements, provides information on cancer-related topics through its fact sheets. Educational health awareness materials are also freely available on the CANSA website, and through partners’ sponsorships, CANSA is making more material available in African languages. Our CANSA Seal of Recognition programme awards products that lower cancer risk the CANSA Seal of Recognition, displayed on products and guiding consumers towards products that are healthier choices.
CANSA further advocates to protect the rights of cancer patients, providing a free service to the public whereby any delays in cancer treatment or screening necessary to advise proper treatment, lack of access to cancer treatment drugs or pain control medication, lack of access to stoma bags, may be reported using the form above. The form provides the information necessary for CANSA’s Advocacy team to communicate with staff at treatment facilities.
