How Referrals to CANSA Work

CANSA is committed to connecting people facing cancer with information, day-to-day help as well as emotional support they need in the communities where they live. Our aim is to ensure that cancer Survivors and their loved ones don’t have to face cancer alone; we’re here to support them through every step of their cancer journey.*

* The responsibility rests with patients to contact CANSA for assistance. CANSA is not informed of any diagnoses / of patients being treated at medical centres. Family need to obtain permission from patients, before CANSA may contact them.

CANSA does not prescribe or provide medication, as it is not authorised to do so.

However, our clincial specialist nurse, Sr Vlooi Venter vventer@cansa.org.za is able to provide free advice with regards to management of side effects of cancer, side effects of cancer treatment and pain.

KANSA se strewe is om met mense wat deur kanker geraak word in verbinding te tree en te bly en om soveel as moontlik inligting te deel met kankerpasiënte. Ons wil graag toesien dat pasiënte en hul geliefdes emosionele ondersteuning ontvang in die gemeenskappe waar hulle woon. Ons doel is om seker te maak dat kankeroorwinnaars en hul geliefdes nie kanker alleen in die gesig hoef te staar nie; ons is daar om hulle tree vir tree te vergesel op hul reis met kanker.*

*Dit bly die pasiënt se verantwoordelikheid om KANSA vir ondersteuning te kontak. KANSA word nie ingelig aangaande pasiënte wat gediagnoseer word, of behandeling ontvang, by mediese fasiliteite nie. Familielede moet eers toestemming vanaf pasiënte ontvang, voordat KANSA hulle mag kontak.

Vrywaring

KANSA se diens sluit nie behandeling in nie, en indien enige abnormaliteite tydens siftingstoetse opgespoor word, sal u na ‘n toepaslike spesialis of gesondheidswerker verwys word.

KANSA skryf nie medikasie voor en verskaf ook nie medikasie nie, aangesien ons nie gemagtig is om dit te doen nie.

Ons kliniese spesialisverpleegkundige, Sr Vlooi Venter vventer@cansa.org.za kan egter gratis advies verskaf met betrekking tot die hantering van die newe-effekte van kanker, die newe-effekte van kankerbehandeling en pyn.
