Prostate Cancer Research – Prof Riana Bornman

The booklet Southern African Prostate Cancer Study (SAPCS) was written by Prof Riana Bornman. Prostate cancer is a lethal disease in much of Africa. Estimating accurate mortality rates within South Africa has been limited. Studies outside of Africa have shown that African ancestry is a significant risk factor for prostate cancer-associated mortality. SAPCS and CANSA are working together to conduct an intervention to impact knowledge and awareness of prostate cancer in men in the Vhembe district of Limpopo.
