Episode 11 – Bobby Were is a male breast cancer survivor and a CANSA TLC Coordinator. He shares what he learned during treatment and how that impacted on him and his family, reminding the public of the importance of early detection.
Episode 10 – June is International Cancer Survivors’ month and thyroid cancer Survivor and counselling psychologist, Elise Fourie, a leader volunteer with CANSA and Relay For Life Global Hero of Hope, is interviewed on Radio Laeveld. She shares how Survivors play an important role in cancer awareness, by sharing their story and inspiring others. Elise’s passion is helping with support groups. She passionately shares about CANSA’s Tele and Virtual Counselling service, available in most SA languages, as she knows the importance of proper emotional support during a cancer diagnosis, treatment and even when in remission.
Episode 9 – Mireille chats to Carien Hamman, National Volunteer Manager at CANSA. She shares insight into the important role volunteers play in supporting those affected by cancer and explains how members of the public can get involved and make a meaningful difference in their communities.
