Message of Condolence for Prof Harry Seftel

Prof Harry Seftel passed away at the age of 94 on 3 December 2023, only a few days before his next birthday. He will be sorely missed by CANSA where he was regularly featured as a speaker at CANSA research and health seminars as well as a panelist at several town hall meetings. He was a great health activist and knew practically everything medical-related. He freely shared his vast knowledge at every opportunity. He was well known for his advocacy about the dangers of smoking and is credited with saving hundreds of lives because of his anti-smoking campaign. Prof Seftel believed in living a healthy and balanced lifestyle which fits in beautifully with CANSA’s philosophy regarding reducing the risks for cancer.

CANSA will always fondly remember him. May his soul rest in peace.
