Holiday Housekeeping and Deepest Thanks
As we come to the close of the year, and our 95th birthday hovers on the horizon of 2026, our CEO, Elize Joubert, writes a special thank you to each person who made a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer this year, through supporting CANSA.

With only 150 members of staff (including contract and commission-based staff) and 1 506 volunteers, CANSA is dynamite in a small package that gives cancer in SA a substantial punch in the gut, educating and supporting those affected by cancer.
If you missed our recent enewsletter “With Your Support the Sky is the Limit”, you can find it here, where we list all our enewsletters. It will show you the number of cancer patients, caregivers and loved ones, you have helped us to reach over the past financial year and how to keep informed about the work CANSA does. Please subscribe if you wish to hear more in 2026…

For counselling during this period please visit the South African Depression and Anxiety website www.sadag.org.za for assistance and helpline information.
For emotional or practical support of children or teen cancer patients, please refer to the staff on call list for a contact person.
Keep an eye out for our updated Calendar and note your local CANSA Care Centre’s contact details for 2026.
Remember that even if there is not a CANSA Care Centre in your town, there are services through our volunteers, and online, that we can offer throughout the country. Email info@cansa.org.za or phone our Toll-Free number 0800 22 66 22 from the 5th of January 2026 with any queries you may have.
Did You Know?
Your donations enable free services, for example, CANSA Tele and Virtual counselling in most SA languages by trained counsellors, support groups (face-to-face; WhatsApp and FBK); guidance from our Clinical Nurses regarding coping with the side effects of cancer, cancer treatment, dietary tips, stoma care and pain management – enquire at info@cansa.org.za; our Advocacy department assists patients experiencing stock shortages, delays in screening and cancer treatment, and lack of access to appropriate pain management medications; transport to and from cancer treatment centres is provided to our cancer patients staying at CANSA Care Homes, who would otherwise live too far away to receive treatment.
Children and teens with cancer and their parents / guardians stay at our CANSA TLC Lodges for free during treatment. Our two TLC wig banks for children / teens provide free wigs to those in need.
No matter how small the donation, it helps deliver a collective knock-out punch in the fight against cancer!
