When Thabo had Cancer

When Thabo feels unwell his mother takes him to hospital in the city and he is diagnosed with cancer.

They are told he needs to stay at the hospital to receive treatment.

Thabo is sad at first, but soon makes new friends and discovers that there are many people who want him to get well again.

CANSA TLC is fortunate to partner with writers Sue Boucher, PatchSA, and Veronique Garbutt on this compassionately written book. The book is illustrated by Michelle McClunan.

The purpose of the book is to reassure children who need to spend an extended period of time in hospital receiving treatment and to dispel myths around a cancer diagnosis.
