Look Out for CANSA Active at the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon

#RunForSomething #RunForCANSA

CANSA is proud and thankful to be a beneficiary of the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon taking place 15 – 16 October 2022.

Look out for our CANSA Active stand at the Expo (DHL Cape Town Stadium), alongside Sanlam, from 13 – 15 October.

The Expo will display our exciting and affordable CANSA Active merchandise and Ocean Freedom sunscreen, SunSmart choice which recently was awarded the CANSA Seal of Recognition in the protection category, will also be available.

CANSA is thrilled to be manning a hydration station (Albion & Campground Road in Rondebosch). Look out for our bright, enthusiastic CANSA Active volunteers. We are grateful to Sanlam for sponsoring our CANSA Active volunteers’ t-shirts.

Online Fundraisers

CANSA could not do without the support of our CANSA Active online fundraisers, who are not only participating in the event, but raising funds online to support CANSA’s service to those affected by cancer.

We interviewed some of our online fundraisers, and invite you to make a donation towards their efforts at the SCTM.

Lorraine Mthimunye

CANSA is extremely proud of our own Lorraine Mthimunye (CANSA Head Office Accountant) who is running in the event and raising funds for CANSA. She is living the CANSA brand!

I’ve been doing charity runs for CANSA in the last 2 years, raising R25 000 for the CANSA Tygerberg Care Home, as well as collecting R40 000 worth of essential items for the CANSA Eikehof Care Home. It is very close to my heart as I’ve lost handful of family members to Cancer within a space of 2 – 3 weeks. I am bringing bringing my passion for running as well as my passion for making a difference together. Someone really close to me who has honestly been the pillar of strength in my life for the last 7 years and made it possible for me to continue to be active, putting my body under immence strain and literally getting back out there, has recently been diagnosed with lymph cancer.

9. What does the organisation mean to you?

As I mentioned above it very close to my heart and seeing people suffer without having the opportunity to fight it pains me. So being able to do what I love and try and make a difference so that everyone has the opportunity to beat the cancer, is important to me.
