Dove and CANSA Champion Breast Health Through Real TLC

This October, CANSA is proud to once again partner with Dove in a campaign that empowers women with knowledge, celebrates their confidence, and transforms everyday self-care into an act of protection and love.

Dove is turning a simple skincare routine into a powerful national movement. Through its Real TLC campaign, Dove is encouraging women to care for their “breast friends” by making regular Breast Self-Examinations (BSEs) part of their monthly self-care ritual.

Millions of South African women apply body cream every day, yet very few perform regular breast self-examinations. While 75% of women moisturise their skin regularly, only 5% conduct monthly BSEs, despite the reality that 1 in 28 South African women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

To help change this, Dove has launched a limited-edition Real TLC Body Cream available at Dis-Chem Pharmacies nationwide. The eye-catching packaging features a scannable QR code that gives women instant access to a simple, guided, step-by-step breast self-examination tutorial, helping them check with confidence and become more familiar with their bodies.

At the heart of the campaign is a simple but powerful reminder:

Touch. Look. Check. Every time you moisturise.

By linking an existing daily habit with an important health check, Dove hopes to encourage more women to prioritise early detection and become proactive about their breast health.

In addition to raising awareness, the campaign directly supports CANSA’s work. A portion of proceeds from every Real TLC Dove Body Cream sold will be donated to CANSA, helping to fund vital cancer research, health education programmes, screening initiatives, and support services for those affected by cancer.
