CANSA Vacancy – Social Worker
The Cancer Association of South Africa has a vacancy for the following position: Social Worker
Position Details:
- Permanent position based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
- The salary package and benefits offered are commensurate with the NPO industry
- Provide psychosocial support to cancer patients and their loved ones through
individual, group, telephonic and virtual counselling - Establish and maintain referral systems, support groups, and home-based psychosocial support services
- Create awareness of cancer and CANSA within communities and facilitate educational and support programmes
- Recruit, train, support, supervise and mentor volunteers involved in cancer support initiatives
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, healthcare facilities, community organisations and other role players
- Oversee CANSA Information and Support Desks at hospitals with the support of volunteers
- Conduct community needs assessments and implement action plans to increase community involvement in cancer support initiatives
- Ensure accurate administration, record keeping, reporting and compliance with CANSA policies and procedures
