CANSA Polokwane Mobile Health Clinic & Care Clinic Assists Community
In an effort to curb long walks to the clinic, CANSA assists communities in rural areas with medical screening through its Mobile Health Clinic.
The CANSA Mobile Health Clinic offers services such as breast examinations, PSA (prostate specific antigent) tests, Pap smears, HIV rapid tests and other services that will make a trip to the local clinic unnecessary.
CANSA also has a Care Clinic, which provides treatment and is at the Hospitium in Polokwane. The Care Clinic treats people at a minimum cost.
Patients visiting the Care Clinic or using the Mobile Health Clinic do not have to pay doctor’s fees, which also ensures that services are rendered at a very low cost.
Other services offered at the Care Clinic includes skin screening, volunteer training, home-based care, oncology clinic, stoma clinic, counselling, fitting of prostheses, medical loan equipment, health talks, health exhibitions and health campaign info in the form of pamphlets.
Caregivers visit cancer Survivors (patients) at their homes to give them support and counselling (this includes family members).
