A Brave Young Man Motivates his Parents to go the Extra Mile
Tyler Sassman was the eldest of two children. He loved soccer, and his biggest dream was to become a successful soccer player. He also planned to study sports management as part of his tertiary studies to support his dream.
Sadly cancer put an end to his dreams, but it also motivated his parents to step up and raise awareness, starting campaigns that led to the establishment of the Tyler Sassman Foundation. They raised funds and contributed R50 000 to CANSA’s Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) programme, in his memory, which was used to provide prosthetic support and port-o-catheters and broviacs to oncology kids.
CANSA TLC wishes to acknowledge this young man and his family and thank them for taking hands with us, and benefitting other children fighting cancer.
