Women’s Health Day Celebrations with Minister of Women in the Presidency

Minister Susan Shabangu led a Cancer Awareness Day on Sunday, 29 October 2017 in Duduza Township, Nigel in Ekurhuleni.

CANSA was invited to be part of this awareness and offer information and much needed screening, together with the Department of Health and Pink Drive. The Minister emphasized that women’s health is a human’s right issue; accordingly women are encouraged to make their health a daily priority. They should know and understand their bodies and be aware of cancer symptoms.

CANSA’s Service Delivery department, the Health Specialist and the Advocacy team contributed significantly to ensure that the day was a success. Sister Desiree from the Service Delivery department, together with some volunteers, offered free screening. The Head of Health gave a talk on cancer and the Clinical Specialist gave a talk on CANSA services and our Advocacy work.
