SA Tobacco Smoking Cessation Clinical Practice Guideline
CANSA and our partners in TAG (Tobacco Action Group) have endorsed the guidelines below:
The guideline was compiled on behalf of the SA Thoracic Society to provide practising clinicians with a resource from which to base individual cessation interventions for patients within the SA environment.

My name is Thabang, aged 27. I have been smoking for well over 13 years and for the past three years I have been trying to quit but the results remain constant with no success. Any type of information as to how to quit smoking would be appreciated.
Dear Thabang
It is very difficult to break an addiction to nicotine. You will need more than one avenue of support – see below. Don’t lose heart though, it has taken tremendous motivation and courage for you to make the decision to quit, and to seek help in doing so. Stay strong!

Iam trying to quit smoking, but i use alcohol how can stop smoking while m’i drinking beer now i had made two weeks without smoking please give me some more tips on how to quit totally from sking
