Research Study – Exploring the Status of Non-Communicable Disease Care during the COVID-19 Pandemic
The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), is conducting a study on the care of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) during the COVID-19 pandemic and invites patients to participate in the study. NCDs include diabetes, hypertension, asthma, cancer, depression, etc. The study is being conducted in thirteen countries including South Africa. It has received international and SAMRC Ethics approval.
This study aims to investigate the perceptions and opinions of patients’ needs and expectations of their NCD care (diabetes, hypertension, cancer, etc.) during the COVID- 19 pandemic. Patients will be asked to complete a questionnaire at a time of their choosing, either electronically or via a telephonic interview.
